IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - 2 May 2018: It is with a heavy heart that I have to advise all customers that Vanity Fur will be closing at the end of May. It will come as no surprise to you all that the past 12 months have physically taken a toll on my body with dog grooming and I have been slowly reducing the amount of days/hours that I groom. But after a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided it is time to close and start a new journey. For the past 5 years, I have had so many beautiful dogs come regularly for grooming and I have made many friendships with you, the owners, and grown to love many fur babies. It truly is heart breaking for me to say goodbye. I would like to say a big thank you to you all, especially those of you who have been with me from the early days and supported me on my journey to making Vanity Fur a great little business. My last day of business will be Friday 25th May. All dogs booked in currently will still be groomed up until this date. Unfortunately, if you have a booking after this date you will need to book in with another groomer (I have listed some below).
Groomers: Alison Huxford – 0274935173 (works by appointment from home in Paraparaumu Beach) Janette - Woofys Waikanae (works by appointment from home in Waikanae) Jess Bello – 027 2255033 (works by appointment from home in Raumati) Kapiti Kennels – drop off for half a day or full day Kapiti Kritters – works by appointment Dog Mad – drop off for half a day or full day Kas Grooming Otaki – works by appointment (www.kasgrooming.co.nz) Levin also has a new groomer next to pet shop - a lady called Nicki Hardin owns it.
For those of you are buying dog food from me, I will continue to have this up until 27th May. Loyalty cards will then be passed on to you and I will advise where to continue to buy Acana/NuTripe from.
Thank you again to all of my wonderful customers! I will miss you all!
Warmest regards Julie
Welcome to Vanity Fur Dog Grooming Salon on the Kapiti Coast
Hi, my name is Julie and I am the owner of Vanity Fur Dog Grooming Salon . I am a fully trained dog groomer, a member of the NZDGA www.nationaldoggroomersnz.co.nz, and dog obedience instructor for Kapiti Dog Training Club. Pictured here with Lucy my 15 year old miniature poodle and Ruby Tuesday my 6 year old Cavoodle who were my inspiration to begin my own dog grooming salon which has now been operating since 2012.
My personal journey saw me leaving the big wide corporate world to do something that I was not only passionate about, but where I could really give back and make a difference to these gorgeous fur children in our lives. I left the Kapiti Coast for a stint in Auckland where I had intensive training by a NDGANZmaster groomer on Multiple Breeds and Crossbreeds.
As grooming will be a necessity in your dog's life, it is important to make it a positive experience and they can come to enjoy it as a regular event. The earlier your puppy experiences the sights, sounds & smells of the salon, the happier they will be. with the grooming process. The most important thing to me is to give your pooch a happy experience, a gorgeous groom, as well as ensuring their safety and as little stress as possible. For this reason, I wanted Vanity Fur to be a one on one experience for your pooch, which is why I am by appointment only, and also means no caging pre or post groom is required.
My aim at Vanity Fur Dog Grooming Salon on the Kapiti Coast is to provide your pooch with a stress-free experience while also making them beautiful.
I would like to thank all my customers who have supported me through this journey as well as Kapiti Kritters, the local vets as well as everyone at the Ocean Road Dog Park that has helped make my business a great success!
